What a decade this year has been. As we begin the “Holiday Season” (a euphemism for colder, darker earlier, all the leaves are gone, gloomy grey skies winter), I can’t help but feel a tinge of anxiety about the endlessly digitized gatherings this year. In an effort to get ahead of things I have decided to pivot from a wintry mix of blues and sadness to a wintry mix of cocktails and CostZoom parties!

You heard it right, I am hosting no less than 20 digital CostZoom parties this season!

  • Friends from College – making them wear a costume!
  • Office digital holiday party – Costumes!
  • The pre-holiday lunch my book club usually has as we pause for everyone scattering all over the earth- Costumes!

I sounded like a genius when I proposed this and you can too! When life hands you lemons make French 75’s I always say! Get tipsy and overshare in a Rudolph costume, or ditch the reason for the season entirely and show up on your family and friends’ screens dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow already filled with enough rum to be genuinely happy to see (Almost) everyone looking back at you.

A word of caution, Costuming can be quite habit forming. I am writing this dressed as Marie Antoinette and eating an afternoon donut masquerading as a pastry from Laudrée.

See, isn’t it just more fun to pretend?
